Dr. Andreas Kalogeropoulos MD, PhD, FRCP, FESC
Dr. Andreas Kalogeropoulos is an Interventional Cardiologist, Deputy Director of the Adult Cardiology Department at Mitera General Hospital (Hygeia Group) and Honorary Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, United Kingdom.
A graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, he initially trained in Internal Medicine at Evangelismos General Hospital and subsequently specialized in General Cardiology at Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, and St. George’s Hospitals in London, UK.
He further subspecialized in Interventional Cardiology and the revascularization of chronic total occlusions and complex coronary lesions at the internationally renowned St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barts Heart Centre (London, UK), and in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI/TAVR) at the prestigious St. Thomas’ Hospital (London, UK). From 2017 to 2019, he served as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, UK.
Dr. Kalogeropoulos has authored numerous publications in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and is a frequent invited speaker at major international interventional cardiology conferences. His clinical and research interests include transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI/TAVR), percutaneous revascularization of coronary chronic total occlusions and complex lesions, intracoronary imaging using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT), and coronary physiology studies through assessment of epicardial and microvascular circulation using FFR, RFR, CFR, IMR, and acetylcholine provocation testing.
