Diagnostic Coronary Angiography
Diagnostic coronary angiography is considered the gold standard method for comprehensive evaluation of the coronary arteries and the accurate diagnosis of underlying coronary artery disease.
It is typically performed when a patient presents with symptoms of angina (chest discomfort/pain) and/or when non-invasive diagnostic tests (such as CT coronary angiography, stress testing, myocardial perfusion imaging, or stress echocardiography) raise suspicion for significant coronary artery disease.
